The Name Mnemonic Research Institute is building that future with AR glasses.
This is an unreleased prototype currently in development.

How it works
Glasses, phone, and AI, working together.
Shoot with the glasses’ camera
The camera on the AR glasses captures the person in front of you.
Send it to your phone
The photo is sent over Bluetooth to your phone.
AI matches the face
AI on the server matches it against the people you’ve already registered.
The name appears
The result is sent back to the glasses, and the name appears in your field of view.

Pulling out your phone, opening the app, pointing the camera — those few seconds are too long in the middle of a conversation. So we put it right where you’re already looking.

Where we are
How far we’ve gotten so far.
The prototype is complete and reached App Store review. At this point, though, Meta — the maker of the AR glasses — does not yet allow third-party apps that use the glasses’ features to be released publicly. So this app hasn’t reached anyone’s hands yet.
There’s frustration in that. Still, we believe building something that works and reaching the door of review is a real step forward. We plan to reapply as soon as public release is allowed.

What we’ll commit to before launch.
We won’t trade someone’s peace of mind for convenience. That’s the premise of this research.
Data is protected, and always deletable.
Captured data is handled encrypted, and users always have a way to delete it.

We comply with laws including the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, as well as each platform’s terms of service.
